A breakdown of an ABB ACS800 variable frequency drive (VFD) halted production at a major dairy facility in Lagos, necessitating immediate intervention by Team Teknifix. The outage had severely disrupted operations, and urgent intervention was required.

Our engineers conducted a thorough assessment of the unit to identify the underlying causes of the faults. After thorough troubleshooting, the defective components were replaced, and the unit was tested under simulated load conditions. Following successful performance validation, the drive was delivered to the customer and commissioned to restore production.

The project included:

• Preliminary inspection and fault diagnosis of the drive – workshop intervention
• Replacement of damaged components with OEM certified parts
• Preventive maintenance of cooling systems and reapplication of thermal interface materials
• Drive reassembly and staged simulation tests, both under load and under load
• Final validation, commissioning, and handover to the customer’s technical team

The project was completed on schedule and the drive system was fully restored to peak performance, enabling uninterrupted production for the client’s dairy processing operations.
