Our client, a major player in the cement manufacturing industry, experienced a critical failure on a Schneider Altivar 61 Variable Frequency Drive (VFD). Given the importance of the drive in maintaining continuous plant operations, the client requested technical intervention from our team.

Team Teknifix was mobilised to the client’s facility for an on-site assessment and repair. Upon inspection, the drive was disassembled, and detailed physical checks revealed that some components had been compromised.

To restore functionality, the faulty components were carefully replaced with new units of the same specification. The drive was then coupled and subjected to operational testing, where it was confirmed to be functioning optimally in line with OEM standards.

The project included:

• Continuity testing to ensure no short circuit between phases and earth
• Thorough physical inspection of internal components and connections
• Identification and replacement of compromised units with OEM-certified spares
• Coupling and functional testing of the drive

The work was completed promptly within the same day, and the drive was successfully restored to full working condition, minimizing production downtime for the client.
